A  moderate size residence designed on the outskirts of city to provide the advantages of central  open space. An atrium is designed centrally as an analogy of courtyards in composite climates, with security and controlled admission of natural elements .

The alignment of atrium with front and rear verandah and the transparency between them and dining brings the feeling of spaciousness. The punctuation of light  from the sloping roof above exalts the space. The pergolas above living room help to shade the clear storey lighting to living and the roof to prevent heat gain in summer.
