RESIDENCE FOR MR.SAMRIT – 2007 – Aurangabad
Built on stilt to keep free area at ground level to provide ample space for the vehicles serviced and repaired in the automobile service station owned by the owner across the road.
The access to the house at stilt level is gradually ascending to minimize the effect of climbing.
Conceptually the kitchen dining and living area are intertwined to provide feeling of openness and segregation; which is achieved by large openings and omission of walls between. The level difference helps in necessary segregation. The staircase from the hall its projecting balcony at first floor into a double heighted space.
The changing geometry of ground and first floor level envelop ,the provision of light wash through the roof on walls add to the dynamic spatial experience within.
Externally the building has a conglomeration of rectilinear and curvilinear geometrical forms giving a bold visual statement.
